Welcome to El Camino Village

Welcome to our favorite neighborhood in Lawndale CA.  El Camino Village is the area that actually consists of  both Lawndale and Gardena.  What makes the area special is that it has a very “neighborhood” look and feel compared to some other parts of both of those cities.

Housing consists of primarily 1940’s and 1950’s era post WWII single family homes which gives the area a really nice look and feel with real pride of ownership and curb appeal.  They were well built beach bungalow type tract homes with usually 3 bedrooms and often around 1,100 square feet.  Many added square footage over the years and while some are still in fairly original condition most have been remodeled and improved over the years.

The neighborhood consists of single level homes with pleasant front yards on quiet, tree lined streets.

The borders of the area are generally Marine to the north, Manhattan Beach Blvd to the south, Prairie to the west and Crenshaw to the east.  Nearby highlights are Alondra Park, Alondra Golf Course and Bodger Park.

Pending Home Sales Continue to Rise in Lawndale

For the 4th month in a row the number of pending home sales increased quite a bit from the previous month.  June saw 15 homes go into escrow which was the highest number of pending home sales in Lawndale since August of 2019.  Home sales in Lawndale also increased significantly from the 2 prior months.

Median Home Prices in Lawndale Up 20% over July of 2016

July was a crazy month throughout the South Bay with double digit year over year percentage changes in most of the cities. There was no real rhyme or reason to it with some cities way up and others way down.  Real estate in Lawndale CA was no different with an enormous jump of 20% for the median home prices compared with July of 2016.  Hawthorne saw 35 homes sell with a very impressive median price of $730,000 was $168,000 higher than a year ago!  Click here to see the recent home sales in Lawndale and the South Bay.  July is often a very busy month with many homebuyers trying to purchase before the start of the school year but regardless of the reason a median home price of $730,000 in Hawthorne is a very impressive number.
